Sarah Palin is one of her favorite "women of power" and I'm sure she agrees with Michele Bachmann's every utterance. Had my mom had the means to send me away to a gay rehabilitation program, she would have. She was at her wits end trying to "pull me back to the normal world" and she threatened these kinds of reparative therapies on numerous occasions - typically when she had found out I'd lied about something else. It was usually about who I'd been with or what we had been doing. But at this point, she was on a rampage to destroy any queer interaction in my life, so lying was the only way out of the house. Thankfully, I was strong enough in my own self to hesitantly break my mother's heart by distancing myself from the negative and emotionally abusive relationship we shared at the time. Unfortunately, some kids and teens are not as lucky and get sent away - some even believing that they are "sick" or "disgusting" (as I was once told I was.)
Michele Bachmann is a scary woman - a cold, close-minded, ignorant, scary woman...who has way too many people hanging on her every word.
